In Eastern/Byzantine Iconography, our Blessed Mother typically wears a red or purple veil in contrast to her blue mantle in Western European art.
Red in Byzantine tradition symbolizes divinity, spiritual motherhood, and royalty.
This hooded cape veil is made of a rich burgundy cotton fabric, finished with floral lace trim. Satin ties are encased in the veil. You may have to experiment and adjust the ties a few times to get it to your desired fit.
A comb clip can be sewn on by request at checkout.
